Kulkija
The recording project of J. Koho, a close collaborator in the OMSHA circle around Uton.

Kulkija is the project of J. Koho, a collaborator closely tied to the OMSHA sub-line and to Jani Hirvonen’s work as Uton. The name — Finnish for “wanderer” — suits music rooted in the same free-folk and drone traditions that run through the rest of the Ikuisuus catalogue.
Koho’s work appears both under the Kulkija name and in collaboration, most visibly as one third of the trio Mutantea.
In the OMSHA circle
Kulkija’s closeness to Uton is central to the project. The two recorded together in Mutantea with the Argentine musician Anla Courtis — a release issued on Ikuisuus as IS-001, its first copies hand-painted — and Koho’s work sits squarely within the OMSHA corner of the roster, the sub-line that carried much of Hirvonen’s output. It is a small body of work, but one wound tightly into the label’s central thread rather than sitting at its edges.
